Warsaw National Stadium

City: Warsaw

Capacity: 56,000

The Warsaw National Stadium is a new venue being constructed for the Euro 2012 Finals and is due to be completed in May 2011.

It is being constructed on the site of the old Stadion Dziesięciolecia (10th Anniversary Stadium) which in recent years had been the site for a massive open air market.

The new National Stadium will have a capacity of 55,000 and will host the Euro 2012 opening match as well as 2 further group matches, a quarter final and semi final.

In addition to the main stadium, the construction plans include a 15,000 general purpose indoor arena, a 4,000 spectator Olympic swimming pool plus meeting and catering facilities.

The transportation infrastructure is also being upgraded with the redevelopment of the Warsaw Stadium train station and a new subway station.
