Lviv

Lviv is a city in western Ukraine that is a great spot for tourists who are traveling through Europe. It is very European in appeal but still has that Soviet influence that keeps it different from other cities in the region.

Founded in 1256 by King Daniel of Galicia, early in its existence, Lviv was controlled by Poland before becoming a part of Ukraine. During this time it was highly influenced by the Polish and the city became the seat of Catholic Archdiocese. This enabled Lviv to grow and advance in population, economy, and others. It was also a trading center in the 13th century.

It has also seen its fair share of difficulty during the Polish-Ukrainian war around the First World War and the Soviet occupation during World War II where Lviv was taken by the Soviets when they invaded Poland.

Nevertheless, Lviv is a city that has a story to tell. Not to mention that it is has a rich culture in the forms of theatre, architecture, art, museums, and music. Lviv is the city in Ukraine to have most number of the tourists flocking to it because it is a melting pot of ethnicities and attractions that have a combination of the past and present day influences.

Lviv has an international airport for tourists from different places while public transportation is easily found within the city. Buses, trains, trolleys, trams, and rail buses are available for commuting.
